G. Everist, Incorporated <br />9065 Quince Street <br />Henderson, CO 80640- <br />LOCATION: Maryland Creek, immediately west of State Highway 9, approximately 2 <br />miles north of Silverthorne, Summit County, Colorado, Sections 15 and 22, Township 4 <br />North, Range 78 West. <br />PURPOSE: To construct an operations site for the removal, stockpiling and processing of <br />aggregate reserves for the sale of aggregate products in the Summit County azea. <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The applicant would discharge approximately 11,000 cubic <br />yards of clean dirt and gravel in 3.31 acres of wetlands for the construction of the <br />operations site. The total mining project would occur on approximately 216 acres. The <br />applicant's entire property consists of approximately 1,054 acres, known as the Maryland <br />Creek Ranch, and was purchased in 1995. The applicant has a conditional use permit from <br />Summit County and a mine permit from the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. <br />The proposed project includes facilities for aggregate extraction and processing, and asphalt <br />and concrete plants. Construction of the operation site would begin in the fall of 1996 and <br />continue through the summer of 1997. Aggregate processing, including asphalt and concrete <br />production, is scheduled to begin in the summer of 1998. <br />The applicant has an existing facility across State Highway 9 from the proposed site. The <br />existing facility has been in operation for the past 17 years but will run out of aggregate <br />reserves by the end of 1997. The applicant's lease with the landowner also will expire on <br />December 31, 1997. <br />The applicant is the major supplier of aggregate products, and the only entity that provides <br />the full range of aggregate products (gravel, asphalt, concrete, wintertime sand, gabions, <br />leach field material, etc.) in the Summit County area. <br />
