Road iF27
Oak Creek, Co. 804&7
RE: Wastewater Treatment Plant Impoundment Certification
Dear Rick;
The purpose of this letter is to certify that the Wastewater Treatment Plant ponds
have been constructed in accordance with SGFA's design drawings dated September
1992. On AAay 26th 1 inspected the ponds. At the time of my vi3it, the first aerated
pond was about 2J3 full of water, The dawnstroam embankment at that time snowed
nn signs of seeps, wetness or dampness, Further, pond k2 had approximately 6^ to
12" of water from a previous water test. Again, the :finer for this pond appeared to
be holding water because according to Ron golden, the water had Seen In the pond
for several days.
All pond dimsneions appear to be conaistcnt with the original design drawings.
f have reviewed the soils testing performed during construction to verify that the
embankmentawere compacted to the specified densities. Upon review of the density
repcrts, all of the embankments exceeded the required 95% of maximum density
specified. In several cases the preliminary test was below the required 95% but
further retesting was accomplished In this area and exceeded 95%.
Az you are aware, a soils engineer worked with us to design the ponds. The ponds
(impoundments) were designed to retain water, zr.d based upon my observations on
the z6th, the ponds were built in accordance with our plans and specifications.
If we can provide you any additior,21 information, please contact me.
51 n Cerel y,
SCHMUESER GORDON MEYER, INC.
/~+--~--~-r~-
Lows Meyer, P.E.
cc: Ron Golden
Marcus Middleton
--_^
LOMi ja91085.1
