' S~ EXHIBIT B
Mining Plan
' The current operator of this clay mine began his operation in ?
' The area mined since 1976 is indicated on the mining plan map.
Production quantities for the years 1974-1976 were used to determine area
' projection required for the mining plan. They are as follows:
1974 - 3,215 Tons
' 1975 - 2,192 Tons
1976 - 2,131 Tons
' The operator has indicated a projected recovery rate of approximately 2513
tons per year. The average overburden is i8% comprised primarily of 4-8 inches of
tcpsoil and 3 to 8 feet of sandstone, overlying up to 28 feet of clay. Plaximum pit
~~ -
depths are on._th~order of 30 feet and typically are less than 20 feet. At
the above mentioned recovery rate it is projected that less than one surface acre
per year will be disturbed as a result of clay extraction.
The mining plan will consist of topsoil removal by front end loader and the
' stockpiling of the topsoil. It is anticipated that the stock out area for topsoil
can be established in previously, mined areas. The clay will be excavated.._ta-an
t
i
d
th
f~
i t b
f
t
d l
d
hi h
l
h
t
l
ma
e max
mum
ep
o
approx y
ron
en
oa
er w p
e ma
c
aces t
eria
' in dump trucks fcr delivery to a processing site operated in. No wat er usage is anticipated at the mine site and no
surface or ground water is retain ed except for short periods after heavy rains.
Mining operations at this pit are intermittant and oc cur not more than 60

days of the year and only as this clay type is needed by the bri.:k factory in their
' operations.
As the mining progresses, and the topsoil can be redistributed, it will
' be redistributed according to the reclamation plan sited later herein.
1
