The required fee of $1,343 for
the substitute water supply plan has been submitted.
This project will create lined storage reservoirs and rangelands. Currently the site is dry-
mined by dewatering trenches built around the first mined area at the Lohmann Pit. Water will be
pumped from the dewatering trench to the Last Chance Ditch and returned to St. Vrain Creek.
The anticipated net depletion for this plan is 29.0 acre-feet per year for up to 4.64 acres
of water surface exposed in after December 31, 1980. According to the information submitted,
no water surface was exposed within the reclamation permit boundary prior to January 1, 1981.
You have provided a monthly breakdown of the annual depletions made up of 12.46
acre-feet of evaporative loss, 1.86 acre-feet of water used and consumed for dust control, and
14.71 acre-feet of water lost with the mined product. No phreatophyte credit has been applied to
this plan.
The source of replacement water is 0.092 shares of the Last Chance Ditch and fully
consumable waterfrom the City of Longmont. Replacements during the historic irrigation season will
be provided by the 0.092 shares of the Last Chance Ditch, which yields 16.12 acre-feet of consumptive
use credits. The lease with the City of Longmont will provide a total of 26.33 acre-feet of water from
Octoberthrough April. Of the 26.33 acre-feet of lease waterfrom the City of Longmont, approximately
1.32 acre-feet will cover transit losses (5.25% total based on 0.5% per mile for the 10.5 miles from the
City of Longmont wastewater treatment plant to the Lohmann Pit). The amount of City of Longmont
replacement water that reaches the Lohmann Pit is 25.01 acre-feet.
