It is located on a north-facing slope down- <br />Site: 5RT24 (Figs 1, 14). <br />Site Type: Open 11thiC. <br />location: SzSW';, Sec. 13, Ton, R87w; UTM Zone 13, E320,150m., N4 ,464,730m. <br />Description: 5RT24 is an open lithic site consisting of a thin scatter of <br />stream from the confluence of Foidel Creek and an unnamed drainage. Foidel <br />Creek constitutes the nearest water source, lying 15 m. to the north of <br />the site. The site elevation is 7150 ft. (2,179 m.). Vegetation on the <br />site includes sdge, Gamble's oak, aspen trees and grasses. No surface fea- <br />tures were visible, nor were there any portable cultural materials other <br />than flakes. There is little natural disturbance, but a jeep trail tran- <br />sects the site and sheepherders have built two small sheep pens on the <br />site. <br />Diagnostic Artifacts: None. <br />evaluation: 5RT24 has no potential for yielding information important to <br />prehistory. No further action should be taken with regard to this site <br />unless endangered by future developments. <br />• <br />
