FROM THE SPECIFIED BOTTOM ELEVATION OF THE PIPE. <br />5. <br />FILTER MATERIAL SHALL BE ASTM C -33, SIZE NO. 67, WITH THE <br />PVC PIPE <br />ADDED CONSTRAINTS AS FOLLOWS: <br />A. FILTER MATERIAL SHALL CONTAIN NO MORE THAN 5% (BY <br />WEIGHT) OF MATERIAL FINER THAN THE NO. 200 SIEVE <br />B. ALL FINES (MINUS NO. 40 SIEVE) SHALL BE NONPLASTIC (PI= <br />0). <br />6. <br />THE FILTER MATERIAL SHALL BE PLACED ON THE GRAVEL LAYER <br />LL <br />OR GRAVEL BACKFILL IN LIFTS NOT TO EXCEED 1FT THICKNESS <br />WHEN COMPACTED WITH SURFACE PLATE VIBRATORS OR <br />VIBRATORY ROLLERS OR SHOULD NOT EXCEED THE LENGTH OF <br />THE INTERNAL VIBRATOR. FILTER MATERIAL BELOW THE PIPE <br />SHALL BE COMPACTED TO 90% MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY. <br />7. <br />PERFORATED PIPE SHALL BE FULLY PERFORATED 12" DIAMETER, <br />SDR -17 PVC, NTH 0.125' SLOT WIDTH (3.875" OD SLOT <br />LENGTH), 1" SLOT SPACING, AND CONFIGURED IN 4 ROWS <br />AROUND THE PIPE CIRCUMFERENCE <br />8. <br />PLAIN (NON - SLOTTED) PVC PIPE FROM PHASE I - WEST DRAIN <br />STA 13+00 TO THE OUTLET SHALL BE 12" SDR -17 PVC PIPE <br />9. <br />FILTER MATERIAL SHALL BE WORKED UNDER THE PIPE <br />HAUNCHES BY HAND. <br />10. <br />THE FILTER MATERIAL SHALL EXTEND A MINIMUM OF 12" ON <br />EVERY SIDE OF THE SLOTTED PIPE AT COMPLETION OF <br />CONSTRUCTION. <br />11. <br />EMBEDMENT MATERIAL FOR THE PLAIN PVC PIPE SHALL BE <br />ASTM C -33, SIZE NO. 67, WITH A 6" LAYER BENEATH THE PIPE <br />AND 1 FT_ THICK ON ALL OTHER SIDES. <br />12. <br />SURROUNDING THE SIDES AND TOP OF THE FILTER /EMBEDMENT <br />MATERIAL, AND KEYED 6 IN. UNDER FILTER MATERIAL (AS <br />SHOWN ON PERFORATED PVC PIPE DETAIL), PLACE A LAYER OF <br />MIRAR 140N GEOTEXTILE (OR EQUIVALENT) AS SMOOTH AS <br />POSSIBLE. MAKE OVERLAPS OF THE FABRIC AT LEAST 3 FT. <br />WIDE WHEN BEGINNING NEW FABRIC ROLL. <br />13. <br />NATIVE FILL WILL SERVE AS BACKFILL ABOVE THE FILTER <br />MATERIAL TO GRADE. <br />14. <br />PLAIN PVC PIPE BEDDING SHALL BE HAND TAMPED IN 12" LIFTS <br />AND SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM C -33, GRADATION SIZE NO. 67. <br />15. <br />PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF DRAINS AND FILTERS BY RUNOFF <br />CONTAINING SEDIMENT, DUST, CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC, AND <br />MIXING WITH NEARBY FINE- GRAINED MATERIALS DURING <br />PLACEMENT AND COMPACTION. DRAIN AND FILTER MATERIAL <br />SHALL BE KEPT AT AN ELEVATION HIGHER THAN THE <br />SURROUNDING FINE - GRAINED MATERIALS DURING CONSTRUCTION <br />TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION BY SEDIMENT - CARRYING RUNOFF. <br />16. <br />PREVENT SEGREGATION OF THE FILTERED MATERIAL DURING <br />HANDLING AND PLACEMENT. <br />17. <br />PROPER IN -PLACE DENSITY IS REQUIRED TO BE NO LESS THAN <br />80- PERCENT RELATIVE DENSITY.
