ISSUES RAISED BY OBJECTING PARTIES <br />Staff have reviewed the objection letters and have organized the issues raised by the objecting <br />parties as follows: <br />Administrative Comments <br />a. Please have the pre-hearing conference include a tour of the site to which all <br />parties are invited. (Drone, Replogle, Welch, ) <br />b. Please schedule a hearing on the application in Delta or Grand Junction. <br />(Hudson, Drone, Replogle, Welch) <br />c. The permit should be denied in the interest of satisfying citizen's concerns. <br />(Grader) <br />d. Comments that the Board should consider the cumulative impacts and deny the <br />permit because none of these issues have been resolved. (Coalby Canyon <br />Assoc. ) <br />2. Permit Issues Related to the Application <br />Comments regarding a false and misleading land use description for the <br />surrounding area. Not a mining or industrial area, but a residential area. <br />(Hudson, Welch, Coalby Canyon Assoc., Gardner, Croissant, Greg Lazear, <br />Frances Lazear) <br />b. Comments regarding the failure of the applicant to mention 36 homes, a <br />vineyard, orchards and an alfalfa pasture within'/z mile of the site that would be <br />directly affected. (Welch, Frances Lazear, Croissant) <br />c. Comments regarding a false and misleading current site description indicating <br />rangeland rather that old growth pinyon-juniper forest. (Welch, Frances Lazear) <br />d. Statement that objector cannot find evidence that the applicant has applied for <br />other required state permits. (Welch) <br />Comments regarding impacts to groundwater quality and quantity. (Hudson, <br />Drone, Welch, Greg Lazear, Coalby Canyon Assoc., Garman, Ziegler, Frances <br />Lazear) <br />f. Comments regarding potential for increased flooding from stormwater runoff. <br />(Grader, Coalby Canyon Assoc., Garman, Chick, Croissant) <br />g.
