•
the operation will be minor. Estimated use for the crusher/screen plant is 2% of the annual tonnage
run through the plant, which, as described above will be a higher tonnage than that of this permit,
120,000 tons per year. This results in an additional consumptive use of 1.76 acre-feet per ear.
A summary of consumptive uses is given below:
Use T e Basis Acre-feet r
Lake Evaporation Evap records + precip. data 9.37
Gravel Excavation Evaporation Evap records, tonnage mined 1.32
Wetland Evaporation Evap records, area exposed 6.91
Dust Control -Roads Tonnage and road use 0.20
Dust Control - Cmsh & Screen Plant Plant data and throughput 1.76
Totals 19.56
The numbers above are for worst case consumptive use since the lake is calculated at maximum
surface area and it is assumed that the full mining operation will be taking place at the same time.
Once the operation is terminated, the only use will be lake evaporation, which will be 9.37 acre-feet
per year.
Once mining and reclamation is completed 28 to 30 months after the operation commences, 4.2
acres of the original permit area will remain as a lake and the remainder of the land will be restored
to irrigation use. As shown in the lease with Box Elder Holding Company, United has leased the
following water rights: a) Miner Martin Ditch on White River at stream mile 73.97 for 5.00 cfs, b)
Jacobs Pump & PL White River for 4.00 cfs delivered by pump, c) White River Mesa Ditch
Piceance Creek for 13.09 cfs.
Piceance Pit 7/01 17
