SANBORN CREEK MINE
MINE WATER SETTLING POND CERTIFICATION
The mine water settling pond is located immediately east of
Sanborn Creek. The pond is designed to allow the mine dewatering
water pumped from the Sanborn Creek Mine time to settle prior to
being discharged into Sanborn Creek.
In accordance with Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Divi-
sion's Rule 4.05.61101, this certification has been prepared to
document the construction of the mine water settling pond. I,
J. E. Stover, P.E., certified the design of the mine water set-
tling pond. I have a variety of experience in the design and
construction of earth fill embankments and sediment ponds. The
design calcu-lations-f-or the-min8- water settling pond are con-
tained in Appendix B, Page B-12 & B-13. The location of the pond
is shown on drawing S-002, Sanborn Creek Mine, Facilities Area.
Details of the mine water settling ponds are shown on Drawing S-
004, Sanborn Creek Mine, Pond and Ditch Details.
The pond was constructed during September 1991. L. Kirt
Jewkes inspected the pond during construction under my supervi-
sion. To the best of my knowledge and belief the mine water set-
tling pond was constructed in accordance with the approved plan
and meets the requirements of the Regulations of the Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Division.
,~~nnn~
• ~ z~ ~,
ec~', ~°.z° , ~ a James E.
