Walther <br />Executive Director <br />Michael B. Long <br />Division Cirector <br />Thank you for your Yearly Impoundment Inspection Report for 2001, submitted under your <br />(Kimberley A. Wolf) letter of March 28, 2002. The report has been reviewed, and the following <br />adequacy issues have been identified. Please supplement the report with the requested <br />information. <br />Rule 4.05.9(14) All impoundments shall be inspected by a qualified registered professional <br />engineer or other qualified professional specialist under the direction of a professional engineer. <br />The professional engineer or specialist shall be experienced in the construction of <br />impoundments. <br />The report does not indicate who made the inspections, only that a registered engineer reviewed <br />the information. Please add to the report the name of the individual(s) who made the <br />inspections, and that this individual(s) is experienced in the construction of impoundments. <br />Rule 4.05.9(14)(b) The qualified registered professional engineer shall, promptly after each <br />inspection required by 4.05.9(14), provide to the Division, a certified report that the <br />impoundment has been constructed andfor maintained as designed, and in accordance with the <br />approved plan and the applicable regulations. <br />The report does not contain a statement that the impoundments were maintained as designed and <br />in accordance with the approved plan and applicable regulations. Please add to the report that <br />the impoundments were maintained as designed and in accordance with the approved plan <br />and applicable regulations. <br />Rule 4.05.9(15) Certified inspection reports required by 4.05.9(14) for all impoundments shall <br />include discussion of <br />
