ROCKY MOUNTAIN MATERIALS
• EXHIBIT D: Mining Plan
I. DESCRIPTION OF MINING METHODS-The permitted area will be set up in approximately
seven Phases of mining. See Exhibit C.
A Strip and stockpile overburden from the proposed plant site and construct the site access road
with self-loading scrapers,loader and/or dozer.The overburden will be placed in a berm
around the plant site to be used in the reclamation.
B. Set up the plant consisting of primary crusher, secondary crusher, screens, conveyors,
grizzlies and feeder, generator, scales and office. (Gravel the access road)
C. Strip and stockpile the overburden from an area to accommodate the mining production using
scrapers,loader and/or dozer as needed
D. Excavate to the edge of the deposit along the slopes with a backhoe and loader combination.
When sufficient area is excavated for the loader to operate on the pit floor, excavate and tram
the material to the plant with the loader. The final step before reclamation proceeds will be the
removal of the edge of the mined area, the purpose of which was to contain ran-off.
E. Strip additional areas to be mined, placing the topsoil on the completed mining areas. In the
interim, stockpile excess fines from the plant on the completed mining areas-
F. Each year, prepare the previously mined area and any other area not needed for forme use for
concurrent reclamation by leveling, scarifying as necessary and fertilizing as required prior to
seeding and mulching as set forth in the Reclamation Plan.
• G. Continue to alternate mining and reclamation through the various Mining Phases.
FL Between three and five employees are anticipated with the time of operations being twenty-
four hours per day and seven days per week
II. WATER DIVERSION AND EMPOUNDMENTS-There are no water diversions or impoundment
planned except to construct a culvert under the access road for natural drainage to follow the
existing drainage pattern. The punt site will be surrounded by an existing or overburden berm to
keep any external drainage away and to contain any internal drainage.
III. THE SIZE OF THE AREA TO BE WORKED AT ANY ONE TIME-The mining area will be
divided into seven Phases with a total mining area of approximately two hundred acres.Within a
IV. THE AREA OF MAJOR DISTURBANCE is estimated to be approximately fifteen acres at one
time.
THE AREA OF MODERATE DISTURBANCE is estimated to be approximately fifteen acres:
eight acres for the plant site and stockpiling, five acres for concurrent reclamation and two acres
for roads and other facilities.
THE AREA OF MINOR DISTURBANCE is estimated to be approximately fifteen acres.
V. TIMETABLE FOR THE OPERATION-The present plan is based on approximately three years
production for each Phase of the operation depending on market demands and economic trends.
The area encompassed by each Phase is shown on the Mating and Reclamation Plans. Mining
production is strictly correlated to market demands. Specific projects for highway construction or
