• ROCKY MOUNTAIN MATERIALS
EXHIBIT G: WATER INFORMATION
Water Used in Conjunction With the Operation
Aggregate washing is not planned for the initial operation of the mine. However, in the
future aggregate washing maybe desirable. If so, water will be purchased or developed.
Water for dust control will be purchased from municipal sources off-site during the
operation.
Effect of the Mining Operation on Surface or Underground Water
The elevation of the mine floor is approximately 100' above State Highway 67. The
proposed mine is essentially on a level plain working away from the steep slopes to the
lower plains. The Mining Plan mentions that a berm will be placed around any mining
activity to contain run-off and protect slopes from erosion. Existing roads that traverse
the slopes will be provided with an adjacent drainage ditch with velocity control
structures to prevent ditch erosion.
• Compliance with Colorado Water Laws
There is no evidence at this time that mining activity will intercept any ground water
flows or surface flows to tributaries of the public stream systems. No empoundments are
anticipated at the present time.
