Dear Russ:
Please fmd below the response to your adegnacp review comments contained in }'our letter of December
2, 2003, concerning dte above referenced Permit application. Response comments follow the order
presented m your letter.
1. Items concerning the response from the Office of the State Engineer following the pre-operational
inspection of 11/20/03 as follows:
• Exposure of groundwater is not anticipated and will not occur dtuing mining operations or
after reclamation activities have been completed.
• The offsite water source for water to he used for site operations (ie dust abatement) is dte
City of Jontrose, Colorado. Hater is purchased via city meter as needed at the site.
• 311 site stormwaters wili be controlled, diverted (contained to swales and ditches) and
otherwise temporally contained and allowed to settle prior to release from the site widen 72
hours.
2. :1s per Rule 6.4.4(1): Explosives will not be used at the site.
3. Secondary containment for site hazardous materials (ie. temporary fuel urd lubricants for mobile
process equipment) has been constructed and consists of a bermed enclosure surrounding the
[empoxary site fuel storage area (tardr and drums) observed during the recent site inspection of
11/20/03.
