It is about 40 percent Schamber and 30
percent Razor.
The Schamber soil is deep and well drained. It formed in
eolian material mixed with alluvium. Typically, the surface
layer is gravelly loam about 5 inches thick. The substratum
is very gravelly loam and sand. Permeability is rapid and
available water capacity is low to moderate. Effective
rooting depth is 60 inches or more. Runoff is medium to rapid
and the hazard of water erosion is moderate. The hazard of
soil blowing is moderate. The main limitations of this soil
are the suscep~ibility to erosion, slope, and the low water
holding capacity.
• The Razor soil is moderately deep and well drained. It formed
in residuum derived from calcareous shale. Typically, the
surface layer is clay loam about 3 inches thick. The subsoil
is heavy clay loam or clay about 15 inches thick. The
substratum is clay that grades to shale at about 30 inches.
Permeability is slow and available water capacity is moderate.
Effective rooting depth is 20 to 40 inches. Runoff is medium
and the hazard of water erosion is moderate. The hazard of
soil blowing is moderate. The main limitation of this soil is
the susceptibility to erosion.
------=------------------------------------------------------------------
,Category Codes: soi
•
