~Y~~ora~-~o~ Rec,la.~
• COLORADO - SENECA II-W/YOAST MONITOR WELL PROJECT
EXPLORATION AND RECLAMATION PLAN
Description of Area to Be Explored
Exhibit "A" and Exhibit "C"
Commencement and Duration of Drilli
The drilling will start in June, 1990 and it is anticipated that drilling will be
completed by the end of December, 1990.
Method of Exploration and Equipment to be Used
Exploration will consist of rotary drilling and auger drilling. The equipment used will
be one Mayhew 1000-1250 rotary drill and one hollow stem auger drill. It is anticipated
that most of the locations can be drilled by air from an air compressor mounted on the
drill rig being used. However, if water is used, one 1,000-gallon water truck will be
parked in the field area. Other equipment in the field will include four-wheel drive
• pickups and one geophysical logging truck.
There will be a total of 20 water monitor well locations to be completed at depths ranging
from 30 feet to 300 feet. The diameter of each hole will range from 6 inches to 12
inches. See Figure 1 for generalized well completion.
Li ght-Use Roads, Seed Mixtures
Approximately .9 miles of light use roads will be constructed in accordance with 4.03.2
and/or 4.03.3, regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining.
Side cast construction will be used, with topsoil placed on the upward slope. Any
ea rthmoving will be kept to a minimum, and if possible, blade work will only clear brush
with one or two inches of soil displaced.
Any drainage structures required shall not affect normal flow or affect fish migration or
aquatic habitat and related environmental values. Drainage culverts will be installed
where required on streams.
• Road maintenance shall ensure minimization of erosion.
1
