<br />119 - Rentsac-Moyerson-Rock Outcrop complex, 6 to 40 percent slopes <br />This complex occurs on ridgetops and sideslopes and developed from calcareous <br />residuum from interbedded sandstone and shale. It is coinprissd of about 40 percent <br />Rentsac soils, 25 percent Moyarson soils and 25 percent rock outcrop. Small' areas <br />of Redcre2k soils were included in mapping. Redcreek soils era shallow, <br />loam-textured and have less than 35 percent coarse fragments. 'These included <br />soils occupy about 10 percent of the unit. <br />The Rentsac soil is shallow, skeletal and well-drained. In a typical profile, <br />the surface layer is light yellowish brown loam about 3 inches thick. fhe <br />subsurface layer is very pale brown calcareous very channery loam about 3 inches <br />thick. fhe substratum is very pals brown calcareous very channery clay loam about <br />~ inches thick and is underlain with highly Fractured calcareous loamstone at <br />• a depth of 13 inches. <br />Tha i4oyerson soil is shallow, calcareous, and well-drained. In a typical <br />profile, the surface layer is light yellowish brown about 2 inches thick. The <br />subsurface soil is light yellowish brown channery loam about 5 inches thick. <br />The substratum is pale brown calcareous channery silty clay about 14 inches thick <br />and is underlain with fractured, interbedded sandstone, loamscone, and shale <br />at a depth of 14 inches. <br />The rock outcrop is primarily exposed shale, sandstone and siltstone bedrock <br />which is calcareous, brown to yellow and slightly fractured. Included with rock <br />outcrop are very shallow, skeletal soils adjacent to exposed bedrock. <br />This soil is used for livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. The vegetation <br />is primarily mixed perennial grasses, big sagebrush, juniper and areas of <br />cheatgrass mostly over Rentsac soils. <br />• <br />
