<br />107 - Potts silt loan, 2 to 6 percent slopes. <br />the Potts soil is calcareous, deep, and wall-drained. It developed from <br />thick deposits of calcareous loamy alluvium on valley-filling fans. Small areas <br />of Turley and Pinelli soils were included in mapping. Turley soils are deep and <br />undeveloped. Pinelli soils are deep and fine-textured, 'these soils occupy less <br />than 15 percent of the mapping unit. <br />In a typical profile, the surface layer is pale brown silt loam about 4 <br />inches thick. The lower surface layer is light yellowish brown loan about 9 inches <br />thick. Tha upper subsoil is pale brown silt loam a'oout 6 inchas thick. 'f he <br />argillic horizon is light yellowish brown clay loam about 15 inches thick. The <br />lower subsoil is very pale brown calcareous silty clay 1oa:n about 11 inches thick <br />and is underlain with light yellowish brown calcareous silty clay loam substrata <br />• at a depth of 50 inches. <br />Tha Potts soil has moderate permeability and medium runoff. The erosion <br />hazard is moderate from wind and water. Available wacerholding capacity is <br />moderately high to high. Effective rooting depth is 60 or more inches. <br />This soil is used for livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. the vegetation <br />is primarily big sagzbrush and :nixed perennial and annual grasses. <br />Tha average depth of suitable topsoil material is 60 inchas. Phis material <br />is rated fair to good with suitability decreasing with depth. <br />• <br />
