The revision should address some
outstanding issues that were never resolved from NOV C-93-077 as
well as issues that have been identified during recent field
inspections.
Some of these issues include: Additional mitigative measures to
repair areas that were damaged as a result of the ditch failure
that occurred in May of 1993; Proper sizing demonstrations for the
south collection diversion; Use of natural drainages as part of the
sediment control system and transition points between the ditch and
the drainages; Alternatives to intercepting and routing numerous
watersheds across steep slopes over long distances; Details of how
the diversion will be reclaimed; Additional stabilization
techniques to be employed for the cut and fill slopes, etc..
Larry Routten, Barbara Pavlik, and me will be at the mine on June
8, 1994 to review these items in the field and discuss them in more
detail before you prepare the submittal.
If you have any questions, please call.
Sincerely,
Antho ~J.rW~ n
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Larry Routten
