~~
FXHiRiT C
MINING PLAN
Mining Plan:
(a) Mining of the Sand and Gravel deposit is scheduled to
commence approximately June 1, 1996 and end approximately
June 1, 2001.
(b) Topsoil depth is approximately 6" which is a grayish
brown loamy sand. Topsoil will be stripped and
stockpiled from active mining area. Sloping of this
stockpile will be no steeper than 3H: 1V and the slopes
will be mulched with straw to prevent wind and water
erosion. Operator will also seed stockpiles with a
suitable cover crop to minimize weed production. Topsoil
stockpiling will be approximately 3,000 cubic yards. The
topsoil stockpiles will be located on the eastern edge of
the pit boundary.
(c) Overburden will, no doubt, be part of the 6" topsoil
depth. All overburden above the sand and gravel deposit
will be stripped and stockpiled.
(d) Thickness of the sand and gravel deposit ranges from ten
feet to thirty feet in thickness.
(e) An access road will be constructed from C.R. 16 to the
sand and gravel pit. There will be no structures
erected. A scale will be on the access road. Sand and
gravel material will be stockpiled on south end of pit.
(f) The pit will be operated as an open pit. There will be
no improvements and material stockpile dimensions will be
determined to facilitate 3H:1V slope.
(g) Access road will be built from C.R. 16 to pit. Access
road will be 50' wide. Road may need periodic grading to
accommodate heavy truck traffic.
(h) There will be no water used in conjunction with the
mining operation. When water is encountered, a drayline
will be used for excavation.
(i) The pit may intercept groundwater at certain times of the
year due to proximity to the South Platte River.
Interception of surface drainage will not occur. No
detrimental effects of quality are anticipated.
