AmerAlia, Inc. AM2 Drilling and Completion Report
Table 1. Well-History Data for AmerAlia AM2
Top (ft) Bot (ft) Start Date End Date Remarks
0 48 28Jan-00 28-Jan-00 Drilled 7 7/8-inch hole from surface to 48 ft in alluvial
sediments. Moisture noticed at about 37 ft. Ground water
intersected at about 48 ft; estimated at 20 gpm.
48 90 29-Jan-00 29-Jan-00 Drilled 7 7/8-inch hole from 48 to 82 ft (TD) in alluvial
sediments, and from 82 to 90 ft in fractured bedrock of the
Uinta Formation.
90 90 29-Jan-00 29-Jan-00 Completion of well: Added foam to drilling fluid to clean out
hole. Ran 40 ft of 4 1/2-inch schedule 80 PVC pipe and 40 ft
of slotted (10/20) PVC to bottom (84 ft); screened interval
from 44 to 84 ft. Attempted to back-fill around PVC casing
with pea gravel and sand. Completion was difficult because
the hole was washed out at 48 ft, which consumed all of the
gravel (3,000 fb) and sand on site. Shut down operations to
bring in more materials.
90 90 31-Jan-00 31-Jan-00 Continued completion of well: Truck-load (10 yards) of pea
gravel delivered to site. Packing of PVC annulus was
completed as follows: pea gravel (23-90 ft); 10-20 sand (18-
23 ft); bentonite pellets (13-18 ft); Portland cement (0-13 ft).
Cleaned out debris, foam, and mud from hole. Attempted to
obtain water sample (05:40 to 17:40 hours). Attempt
unsuccessful due to lack of drill crew. Checked out well
head, pit, and discharge. Well completion materials included
35 bags of cement, 8 bags of bentonite grout, and 12 bags of
silica sand.
Daub & Associates, Inc.
