~. <br />the following infor~on pertaining to wildlife • provided~fo, use by <br />tha land Reclamation Board in their considaration of a mining par~it <br />for Valco, Gunnison Concrete Division _ <br />(Rozman Pit) <br />The Colorado Division ^f Wildlife does hereby find, to the hest of our <br />knowledge, that the impact of the proaosed mining nparation on wildlife <br />will be <br />X minor <br />moderate <br />major <br />Mina Location: <br />T In S, P, 85 W, Sii~ Section 12, CIE'; Section 13, ar,d ^1!d'a Section 18 <br />Wildlife Species List: (may he attached) Beaver, muskrat, ptarmigan (winter) <br />long-tailed weasel, red fox, coyote, deer, trout and numerous species of amphibians; <br />reptiles and small mammals and non-name birds inhabit this area. <br />cndangared Species Impacted: Plone that are known. <br />Assessment of Impact ^n Wildlife: This operation will have minimal impact on <br />wildlife as long as the operation remains dry and does not disturb the Slate River <br />or adjacent riparian and wetland areas. ' <br />Mine Declamation Recommendations: (may be attached) The Division of <br />lildlife requests a 150 foot buffer zone be left on each side of the Slate River. <br />Any adjacent willows which are destroyed should be replaced immediately upon com- <br />pletion of the excavation phase. The size of the area to be excavated at one <br />time should be kept to a minimum.
