SUBJF7CP: Exception to the Fhiles and Regulations for Monitoring Wells at
wyoming Fuel Company's New Elk Mine in Section 23, Township 33 South,
Range 68 West of the 6th Principal Meridian; and Golden Eagle Mine in
Section 29, Township 33 South, Range 67 West of the 6th Principal
Meridian, near Stonewall, Colorado.
Dear Mr. DeBrine:
EnecoTech Inc., under contract to Wyoming Fuels has recently submitted
four Permit Application Forms to the Colorado Division of water Resources.
These permit applications are for the construction of shallow, unconfined
alluvial aquifer test holes/piezaneters at the New Elk and Golden Eagle
Mines in Las Animas Oautty, near Stonewall, O~lorado. These test holes
are for the sole purpose of monitoring fluid levels for the evaluation of
the ground water. No water shall be withdrawn from these piezcmeters and
put to beneficial or cansiat>ptive use.
EnecoTech requests an exception to the Rules and Regulations for the
following items:
o The surface grout seal will be less than 10 feet due to the
proximity of the water table to the ground surface.
o The drilling contractor is not a licensed well driller in the
