PART I
Page 9b
Permit No. CO-0044776
B. MOMTORING REQUIREMENTS
3. Biosolids Parameters (continued)
e) Records (continued)

(ii) Records of monitoring information shall include the: l) date, exact place, and time of sampling or
measurements and the initials or name(s) of the individual(s) who performed the sampling or measurements;
2) date(s) and times analyses were performed; 3) initials or name(s) of individual(s) who performed th+:
analyses: 4) references and written procedures, when available, far the analytical techniques or methods
used; and 5) results of such analyses, including the bench sheets, instrument readouts, comput+:r disks or
tapes, etc., used to determine these results.
(iii) The pertnittee shall retain records of all monitoring information, including all calibration and maintenance
records and all original strip chart recordings for continuous monitoring instrumentation, copies of all
reports required by this permit and records of all data used to complete the application for this permit for
the life of the permit. Data collected on site, copies of Biosolids Repots forms, and a copy of this permit
must be maintained on site during the duration of activity at the permitted location.
C. DEFINITIONS OF TERMS
1. "Composite" sample is a minimum of four grab samples collected at equally spaced two hour intervals and
proportioned according to flow.
2. "Continuous" measurement, is a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device which continually •
measures provides measurements.
3. "Daily Maximum limitation" means the limitation for this parameter shall be applied as an instantaneous maximum
(or, for pH or DO, instantaneous minimum) value. The instantaneous value is defined as the analytical result of any
individual sample. DMRs shall include the maximum (and(or minimum) of all instantaneous values within the
calendar month. Any instantaneous value beyond the noted daily maximum limitation for the indicated parameter
shall be considered a violation of this permit.
4. "Grab" sample, is a single "dip and take" sample so as to be representative of the parameter being monitored.
5. "In-situ" measurement is defined as a single reading, observation or measurement taken in the field at the point of
discharge 4t analyzed in [he laboratory within a short period after collection, as specified by approved methodology.
6. "Instantaneous" measurement is a single reading, observation, or measurement performed on site using existing
monitoring facilities.
7. "Quarterly measurement frequency" means samples may be collected at any time during the calendar quatter if a
continual discharge occurs. If the discharge is intetmitten[, then samples shall be collected during the period that
discharge occurs.
8. "Seven day average" means. with the exception of fecal colifortn bacteria, the arithmetic mean of all samples
collected in a seven consecutive day period. For fecal coliform bacteria, it is the geometric mean of all samples
taken in a seven consecutive day period. Such seven day averages shall be calculated for all calendar weeks, which
are defined as beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday. [f the calendar week overlaps two months (i.e. the
Sunday is in one month and the Saturday in the following month), the seven day average calculated for that calm
week shall be associated with the month that contains the Saturday. Samples may not be used for more titan one
reporting period. (Not applicable to fecal coliform determinations.)
+ t;1nr ;~,; i~; f i.
Amendment No. I Issued it i ~ ~ ~ Effective
