PART I <br />Page 4c <br />Permit No. CO-0044776 <br />•A. DEFIIYITION OF EFFLUENT LIMITATIONS <br />2. Biosolids Limitations and Management Requirements tcontinuedl <br />b. Pathopgt~ Limitations <br />If the biosolids are to be land applied to agricultural land, forest land, a public contact site or a reclamation site, <br />the biosolids shall meet either Class A or Class B (including the site restrictions) criteria identified in the <br />following two tables. If the biosolids are to be sold or given away in a bag or similar enclosure for application <br />to land or for use on a lawn or home garden, the biosolids shall meet Class A criteria as described in the <br />following table. Compliance with either Class A or Class B fecal coliform or salmonella requirements as listed <br />in the following two tables shall be determined based upon seven discrete samples for Class A and the geometric <br />mean of seven individual biosolids samples collected over a two week period for Class B. <br />(I) Class A Pathogen Requirements <br /> <br />Fecal Coliform and Salmonella <br />Limits Process Requirements (One of the following): <br />Fecal Coliforms shall be < AND I. Composting using either the within-vessel or static aerated pile composting <br />1000 MPN/gram of total solids method, the temperamre of the sludge is maintained at 55°C or higher for <br />OR three days. <br />Salmonella shall be < 3 OR <br />MPN/4 grams of total solids 2. Composting using the windrow method, the temperamre of the sludge is <br /> maintained at 55°C or higher for 15 days or longer, with a minimum of 5 <br /> mrnin s of the ile durin those 15 da s. <br />(ii) Class B Pathogen Requirements <br />Fecal Coliform Liatit Process Re uirements: <br />Fecal Coliforms shall be < OR Aerobic digestion for 40 days at 20°C to 60 days at IS°C. <br />2,000,000 MPN or CFU/gram <br />of total solids Anaerobic di es[ion for 15 da s within 35°C-55°C to 60 da sat 20°C <br />(iii) Site Restrictions <br />The permittee shall comply with ~ of the site restrictions listed below: <br />(I) Food crops with harvested parts that touch the biosolids/soil mixture and are totally above the land <br />surface shall not be harvested for 14 months after application. <br />(2) Food crops with harvested parts below the land surface shall not be harvested for 20 months after <br />application if the biosolids remain on the land surface for four months or more prior to incorporation <br />into the soil. <br />• (3) Food crops with harvested pans below the land surface shall not be harvested for 38 months after <br />application if [he biosolids remain on the land surface for less than four months prior to incorporation <br />into [he soil. <br />~~iG L' 1 '~•? <br />Amendment No. 1 Issued IIII I~r1.AJ(3, Effective <br />
