Box AA <br />Hayden, CO 81639 <br />(303)+824-9014 <br />RECEIVING WATER: Grassy Creek, tributary of the Yampa River <br />CLASS: Class 2, Cold Water Aquatic Life; Agriculture; <br />Class 2, Recreation <br />An Effluent Limited Segment <br />DESIGN FLOW: Sedimentation ponds are designed for the 10-year, <br />24-hour precipitation event. <br />FACILITY. DESCRIPTION: This is a surface coal mining operation which has <br />recently applied fora 5 year permit with the Colo- <br />rado Mined Land Reclamation Division. Annual pro- <br />duction has averaged approximately 200,000 tons/year <br />with maximum monthly production being approximately <br />30,000 tons/month. Future production is expected to <br />increase. The disturbed acreage will be approxi- <br />mately 14.2 acres (1981), 112.1 acres (1982), 9.5 <br />acres (1983) 25.5 acres (1984), and 9.2 acres (1985)• <br />Runoff from undisturbed acres is routed around dis- <br />~ turbed areas with a series of ditches. There are 3 <br />existing and 2 proposed disturbed areas in the permit <br />• boundary. The total amount of disturbed acreage will <br />be 170.5 acres. <br />
