• -2- • <br /> The standards for culvert usage will comply with the Bureau <br /> of Land Management Brochure entitled Oil and Gas Surface Opera- <br /> tion (Figure 1) . Since the mining site will consist of granite <br /> rock on both the high wall and quarry floor , the only sediment <br /> material at the site will be granite fines . The natural <br /> drainage from the site will percolate through a rock tallus <br /> area on the west side of the quarry and will caspture the <br /> minimal amount of sediment carried from the quarry site. <br /> MINE PLAN (Exhibit B and C , No. 3 , Exhibit E , No . 1) <br /> The Red area designated on Map 2 is the only area to <br /> be mined. The initial estimations in the field were placed at <br /> 3 acres and were not corrected in the final typing of the <br /> permit submitted to the State of Colorado . The estimate of <br /> 1 . 8 Ac is correct for this rock outcrop (Map 2 , Red Area) . <br /> The Green area was included in this permit to show the affected <br /> area of the existing road and location of the natural drainage <br /> of the site . At no time will the drainage or the road area be <br /> mined or used as a source of topsoil . These areas are to remain <br /> intact for the life of the mine unless an amendment is applied <br /> for with the State and the BLM. At this time , no such amend- <br /> ments are anticipated. Other activities that may occur on <br /> the green area are topsoil stockpiling and slash distribution. <br /> (See Answer #1 . ) When trees are removed from the permit area , <br /> the mine operator or permitee will acquire a Forest Products <br /> Permit from the BLM. The removed trees will be salvaged for <br />
