During this quarter, twelve NPDES outfalls were
active. Outfalls 001 and 002 discharged routinely throughout the quarter. Outfalls 003, 005,
006, 008, 010, 013, 014, 015, and 017 discharged during the last week of the quarter in
response to a rapid snowmelt. Many of these sites had ceased discharging by the first week of
the following quarter. Lastly, outfall 011 began discharging in mid-February and continued ~
throughout the remainder of the quarter. Values reported on the enclosed DMR's represent the
maximum (or minimum as applicable) monthly values generated at each outfall during the
quarter
Also enclosed aze monthly NOAA weather summaries for the reporting period, seep volume
data for site Ol 1, and WET test report forms as applicable. Seven WET tests were completed
during the quarter on sites 001, 005, and 011. Three tests were conducted at outfall 011 as the
result of an accelerated testing requirement for C. dubia triggered during the fourth quazter of
1997. No pattern of toxicity was detected. Results from all tests aze reported. No
exceedances of WET test limitations were observed at any of the outfalls.
Exceedances of primary effluent limitations are noted as follows, however, in all but one
instance, alternate limitations are applicable as runoff was due to snowmelt. At outfall 002,
the primary 30-day average and daily maximum limitations for TSS and total iron were
exceeded by a sample collected 3/25/98. In addition, this sample exceeded the alternate daily
maximum limitation for settleable solids applicable in the event of dschazge caused by
precipitation less than or equal to the 10-year, 24-hour precipitation event.
