1
1 ~~~
1
' June 30, 1997
CORE LABORATORIES
SAMPLE DELIVERY GROUP NARRATIVE
' Customer: Greystone
Project: COSTII,LA CO LANDFILL
Core Laboratories Project Number: 971377
Method 624 GC/MS Volatiles Analysis:
The method blank analyzed on 6/1/97 had the surrogate 4-bromofluorobenzene below
acceptance criteria. All other associated quality control and samples had this surrogate
within acceptance criteria.
Method 8080 PCB/Pesticide Analysis:
The laboratory control sample analyzed on 6/6/97 had 2,4-D above acceptance criteria.
There were no detections for this compound in the associated samples.
Due to a computer limitation, the surrogates for the laboratory control samples and the
matrix spike/matrix spike duplicates are incorrectly flagged as being outside of acceptance
' criteria. The true recoveries for pesticides are 62% for tetrachloro-m-xylene and 109%
for decachlorobiphenyl in the laboratory control sample and 77% for tetrachloro-m-xylene
and 109% for decachlorobiphenyl in the laboratory control sample duplicate. The true
recoveries for PCB's are 52% for tetrachloro-m-xylene and 80% for decachlorobiphenyl in
the laboratory control sample and 64% for tetrachloro-m-xylene and 83% for
' decachlorobiphenyl in the laboratory control sample duplicate.
Toxaphene was above ]0% relative percent difference in the initial calibration. This
' compound was not recognized in the associated samples. Endrin and aldrin were
reported from the confirmation column in the LCS/I.CD due to coeluting compounds.
Gamma-BHC was within acceptance criteria in the LCS/LCD but outside of relative
' percent difference criteria. Endrin was also above acceptance criteria in the ending
calibration verification standard. These compounds were not detected in the associated
samples.
Linda L.
