• 2,05,3 OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION
1. Mine Site Development
As previously discussed, the Twin Pines No, 2 Mine site
is located within an abandoned underground and strip
mining area. The only additional disturbance planned for
the site is the construction of a fill across Lewis Gulch
to facilitate a truck loading and sedimentation structure,
and a contour ditch above the existing highwall to divert
runoff above the highwall away from the mine site, Existing
roads to the area will be upgraded and proper drainage
provided to conform to Fremont County standards, Mine
site development has been planned to partially reclaim the
existing strip mine and to provide a workable facility for
• production from the mine, The plan for the development of
the mine site is shown on Figure T'p5-5, Essentially the
basic steps in the plan are as follows:
A, Improve existing access road,
B, Install 60" ~ culvert in Lewis Gulch and construct
fill and sedimentation pond.
C. Concurrently provide contour ditches above high~vall,
D, Locate coal seam and construct mine portals,
E. Complete fill above portals,
F, Concurrently construct berm at north spoil area.
G. Complete mine site to line and grade and construct
sedimentation pond and associated drainage,
H, Seed and mulch slopes and complete drainage structures,
I, Construct office, shop and dry house, sanitary
facilities, and electrical facilities.

C
69
