Introduction
Permit Revision 1. The 1991 Hydrologic Monitoring Program was initiated at the Seneca If-W
Mine upon approval of Permit Revision Number 1 IPR1) in October of 1991. A major part of the
program is the utilization of ground water monitoring wells which replace older wells that have
produced suspect or no data. Select monitoring wells are retained as part of the proposed
program. Two surface water sites and eight ground water sites are added to the current
program. Surface Sites FG4 and FG5, and ground water Sites 20A, 21 A, 22A, and 23A initiated
monitoring in 1991. Four additional ground water sites, USGS A1, A3, A8, and A12 also began
monitoring in 1991, Spring Site S-7 has been deleted from the current program. Table 1
presents a summary of the current surface and ground water monitoring sites. Information on
the current program is found on Pages 9 and 12, Tab 15, Hydrologic Monitoring Program.
Monitoring will proceed according to the frequencies and types of monitoring described in the
following program.
Permit Renewal 2. Permit Renewal 2 (November, 19951 modified the ground water monitoring
program. All monitoring of Wells 150V, 15W, 7A1, and 23A was dropped. Water quality
monitoring of Wells 180V and 18W was dropped.
15-3-1 Revised 01102
