EXHIBIT D-2 - SOILS AND VEGETATION INFORMATION
Bachelor Mines-Syracuse Level - Federal Resources Corporation
Page 6
-5-
Reclamation Recommendations Batchelor & M'edge)
As spoil dumps are being removed, care should be taken to leave approxi-
mately 1 foot of fine spoil material and hopefully original topsoil. This
material will provide somewhat of a seedbed and act as a water holding media.
However, if at all possible, the newly stripped area should be topsoiled at
least 4" deep and tilled into the underlying material.
Since both mine t3umps are in drainage areas, it will probably be nec-
essary to put in water diversions ~ re uce s ope lengths and reduce ero-
sion. The site should be reshaped as to conform with the surrounding natu-
ral landscape. Landscaping with rock and logs will help break up slopes and
provide small water catchment pockets. (Also see Seedbed Preparation on
Page 2.)
