Ap 0-S inches grayish brown (10 YR 5/2) sandy clay loam, dark brown <br />• (10 YR 3/3) moist; moderate thin platy breaking to very fine single <br />grain structure; loose, very friable; non-sticky and slightly plastic; <br />common very fine, fine and medium roots; calcareous; gradual <br />smooth boundary. <br />82 5-21 inches grayish brown (10 YR 5/2) sandy clay loam, dark <br />grayish brown (10 YR 4/2) moist; moderate fine subangular blocky <br />structure; loose, very friable; slightly sticky and slightly plastic <br />wet; common very fine, fine and medium roots; calcareous; gradual <br />smooth boundary. <br />BCca 21-42 inches dark grayish brown (10 YR 4/2) fine sandy loam, dark <br />grayish brown (10 YR 4/2) moist; very fine single grain; loose, <br />loose; non-sticky and non-plastic; lime streaks throughout; common <br />very fine, fine and medium roots; calcareous; gradual smooth <br />boundary. <br />• CI 42-53 inches stratified of light brownish gray to dark grayish brown <br />sands (10 YR 4/2, 6/2), grayish brown (10 YR S/2) moist; few <br />medium prominent dark yellowish brown mottles (10 YR 4/6) moist; <br />very fine single grain; loose, loose, non-sticky and non-plastic; <br />common ver;~ fine, fine and medium roots; slightly calcareous; <br />gradual smooth boundary. <br />C2g 53-60+ inches grayish brown (10 YR 5/2) fine sand, dark grayish <br />brown (10 YR 4/2) moist; many coarse prominent dark yellowish <br />brown mottles (10 YR 3/6) moist; very tine single grain; loose, <br />loose; non-sticky and non-plastic; few very fine and fine roots; non- <br />calcareous. <br />The first 21 inches of this pedon is a sandy clay loam texture unlike the fine <br />sandy looms of the typic pedon. There is a calcic horizon directly below these layers <br />which is a fine sandy loam. A gleyed horizon, wet at sampling time, occurs at 53 <br />• inches. This area may have been used for cultivated hay production previously. <br />2.3-95 <br />
