• to the northern boundary of the present lease, and the
northern panels are under development.
The development of the present lease is indicated on
Plate 10 that shows the long-term mine plan. for the future
lease.
9.3 MINE EXPAIJSION
Details of future mine plans are constantly being
changed. Plans for future mining presented in this report
should be considered to be representative and typical rather
than final. In general, future development is envisioned as
a scheme of pillar panels accessed by a system of main and
submain entryways, with eventual pillar recovery from the
entryways and chain-barrier pillars.
A plan for the expanded mine within the
has been prepared by CWI and made available
of this subsidence study. The plan is titled
Planning" and dated 12/09/1982. This m
simplified for the purpose of our study and
Plate 10, Underground Development Scheme.
long-term lease
for the purpose
"Long-Term Mine
fining plan was
is presented as
• The entries into the mine are by two mains, one in the
north-south (or north northeast - south southwest) direction
and two entries in the east-west direction, perpendicular to
the north-south entries. The north-south mains are called
1st North Mains. Two east-west entries are termed West I
Main and West II Main.
The 1st North Mains comprise a safety pillar 180 feet
wide and two sets of entries, one on either side of the
safety pillar. There are four entries on the west side of
the safety pillar and five entries on the east side of the
safety pillar. Adjoining the entries are additional pillars
separating the entries from the mine panels. These pillars
are about 380 feet wide on both sides of the 1st North
Mains.
The ee.st-west mains have a similar arrangement. There
are two systems of entries on either side of the central
safety pillar: Tfie west I Main is located north of the
safety pillar; a Troup of mine panels A through Z
immediately adjoins the (Jest I Plain on the north side,
without a safety pillar between the mains and the panels.
The group of southwest panels south of the Id=st II Main is
separated Erom it by a pillar 380 feet wide.
• - 21 -
