<br />U.S. Department of Agriculture Page - 1 <br />Soil Conservation Service 6/12/95 <br />NONTECHNICAL SOILS DESCRIPTION REPORT <br />FOR DESCRIPTION CATEGORY - SOI <br />Survey Area- LOGAN COUNTY, COLORADO <br />Map <br />Symbol <br />Description <br />20 DACONO LOAM This is a deep, well drained soil with a <br />loamy surface texture and a heavy clay loam subsoil <br />texture. Permeability is slow and the available water <br />capacity is moderate. The surface runoff is slow and <br />the erosion hazard is slight. SOIL CAPABILITY -- <br />Non-Irrig. - IIIs, Irrig. - IIIe. RANGE SITE -- Loamy <br />Plains. <br />25 DIX-ECKLEY COMPLEX, 5 TO 25 PERCENT SLOPES This complex <br />is a deep, well drained to excessively drained gravelly <br />soil with a gravelly sandy loam to gravelly loam <br />surface and a coarse sandy loam or gravelly sandy clay <br />loam subsurface. Permeability is rapid to moderate; <br />available water capacity is low to moderate. Surface <br />runoff is rapid to medium and water erosion hazard is <br />high. SOIL CAPABILITY -- Non-Irrig. - VIe. RANGE SITE <br />-- Dix and Eckley - Gravel Breaks. <br />31 GRAVEL PITS This unit consists of open excavations and <br />barrow areas from which soil and underlying material, <br />most commonly gravel, has been removed. These <br />excavations are usually located in areas of soils <br />underlain by gravel at depths of 10 to 40 inches. <br />On-site investigations are required on this unit to <br />determine use and management. <br />63 MANTER SANDY LOAM, 5 T0.9 PERCENT SLOPES This is a <br />deep, well drained soil with a sandy loam surface <br />texture and a sandy loam subsoil. Permeability is <br />moderately rapid and available water capacity is <br />moderate. Surface runoff is medium and erosion hazard <br />is moderate. The soil blowing hazard is moderate. <br />SOIL CAPABILITY (61) -- Non-Irrig. - IIIe, Irrig. IIe. <br />SOIL CAPABILITY (62) -- Non-Irrig. - IVe, Irrig. - <br />IIIe. SOIL CAPABILITY (63) -- Non-Irrig. - IVe, Irrig. <br />- IVe. RANGE SITE -- Sandy Plains. <br />
