Golden Eagle Mine
Permit # C-81-013
Access Roads
Location:
As operations have ceased, and all Haulroads are in the process of being reclassified as
Access roads, this statement refers to all Haulroads and Access roads as Access roads.
The location of all Access roads is shown on Map 10 of the permit. They are not located
in any stream channels, nor do they ford any stream. The roads and the corresponding
drainage plan are located to minimize downstream sedimentation and flooding.
Design and Construction
The grades on all roads is less than 10 percent. No road has any section of 300 fee[ with
a grade exceeding 15 percent, and no consecutive section of 1,000 feet with a grade over
15 percent. The roads reasonably follow the existing topography. Road widths are
adequate for the volume of traffic. Typically, these roads are used for pickups and other
light vehicles.
All cut slopes and road embankments aze less than I.Sh:ly and have been stabilized with
respect to erosion with vegetative cover. Although knowledge is not available regarding
actual construction, all road embankments appear to be adequately constructed and
stabile.
Drainaee
All road surfaces are sloped sufficiently to prevent the ponding of water and erosion of
the road surface.
Culverts are provided at all drainage crossings. Culvert sizing is shown on Tables 19 &
19A in the permit. Ditches exist along all roads to control drainage. Ditch sizing
information is presented on Tables 17 & 20A in the permit. Unless otherwise noted on
the tables, all culverts and ditches are designed to carry the peak discharge from a ]0-
year, 24-hour precipitation event.
Surfacine
Although actual construction knowledge is not available, the surface of all access roads
appears to be of appropriate material (crushed rock or gravel).
Maintenance
All Access roads and related drainage control structures are inspected regularly, and
maintenance identified is performed to ensure compliance with performance standards.
