EXHIBIT C
MINING PLAN
ATTACHED Ta NICFa;L GRAVEL PIT APPLICATION FOFM
1. Mining will cottmextce as soon as the permit is approved by the Mined Iand
Reclamation Division of the Colorado Department of Resources. it is
anticpated that mining will end on or before five years from the date of
beginning, and the County will probably continue use on a limited basis as
long as gravel is available.
2. The top 12 inches of topsoil will be salvaged and will be set aside and
stockpiled for reclamation purposes. Overburden will be stockpiled on the up
side of the excavation away frcan Vega Creek. The stockpile will be at the
area marked "point of beginning".
3. The overburden is estimated to be approximately one foot and we do not
anticipate any waste rock or other obstructions which will need to be retroved
to get at the gravel itself.
4. The exact thickness of the deposit is unknown and it will vary fran point
to point, but is estimated to be six to ten feet.
5. The access road is froth Highway 71, shown on Exhibit E with exact
dimensions included in the lease agreanent with the land owner. The County
does not plan any structures or other facilities at the site. 't`hey will
simply move in the loader, and trucks will be loaded directly froth the gravel
deposit, insofar as possible.
6. There will be no significant disturbance to the land surface, other than
the pits themselves and the necessary overburden stockpiled. The access road
is a new road and will be constructed solely for County use and will not be
surfaced to County road specifications.
7. No water will be used in conjunction with the operation.
8. We do not anticipate encountering, intercepting or disturbing any surface
water. Vega Creek, though named, is dry most of the year.
9. We do not anticipate disturbing any existing water rights.
10. We do not anticipate that we will do any on site processing. There will
be no crushing, straining, washing, mixing or milling.
There will be no plant facilities, no tillings or heaps, and no drainage
control should be required.
