Please consider diverting surface water around the waste stowage sites <br />by utilization of upland berms, mounded profiles, etc., thereby <br />minimizing the percolation/infiltration potential of the waste <br />materials. <br />15. a. Please provide the catchment area reporting to the southern and <br />western upland diversion ditch, the diversion ditch channel sizing <br />and channel-lining erosion control and energy dissipation measures <br />proposed. <br />16. Please consider establishing drainages down the slopes at the southern <br />pit area rather than attempting to create a long-term upland diversion <br />ditch to feed into the stock pond from the northwest pit area. <br />17. Table E.1, Re vegetation Mix, identifies that 0.5 lbs PLS of "Rimcon" <br />four wing saltbrush winterfat will be planted. Please clarify if both <br />fourwing saltbrush and winterfat will be planted or only one of the two. <br />18. Please provide a reclamation plan and associated costs for the plant <br />site, if it will be incorporated into the permit as affected land. <br />Exhibit H - Wildlife' <br />19. ,4 copy of the application was transmitted to the Division of Wildlife <br />for their review and comment, if any. Any response will be forwarded <br />to you for your files. <br />Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs <br />20. Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan, states that the current quarry <br />disturbance measures approximately 30 acres. However, reclamation <br />costs are proposed for 20 acres. Please clarify. <br />21. Please include the cost of: <br />z~. ripping the quarry slopes and floor; <br />t.. placing 1 foot of gravel atop ripped slopes and floor; <br />c. replacement of 4 feet of overburden; <br />d. water bar/terrace construction; <br />e, diversion canal or drainage channel construction; <br />f. backfilling the waste stowage trench; <br />g. processing plant reclamation; and, <br />h. project foreman/supervisor for the 30 acre initial disturbance, <br />including volume and cost calculations. <br />CM/es <br />1588E <br />
