Ground Engineering Consultants, _Inc., (GROUND) has performed a supplemental subsurface
exploration program and slope stability analyses at the site of the proposed Brighton Water
Storage Project (formerly the proposed 124v' Estates development site), southeast of the
intersection of 124a Avenue and U.S. Highway 85, in Brighton, Colorado. The project consists
of enlazgement and lining of the existing quarry excavation, and installation of inleUoutlet works.
We understand that civil engineering drawings and other project submittals, based in part on our
findings and recommendations, will be prepared by Jehn & Associates, Inc., for submission to the
Colorado -State Engineer's Office. Our work was performed in general accordance with
GROUND's Proposal No. 0205-0293, dated April 1, 2002. This fetter transmits a summary of
the work performed, our findings and recommendations. '
Reference is made to the Guide to Specification Preparation for Slurry Walls and Clay Liners as
a Component of a Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Permit, Division of Mines and Geology,
Colorado Depaztment of Natural Resources; dated September, 2000, for State guidelines and
requirements regarding clay lined pits.
