PARTI
Page No. 9
Permit No.: CO-0032115
c. Outfal-s 012, 013, 015, 016
Parameter Freauencv Sample Type
Flow, MGD Once per week Instantaneous or Continuous
pH, s.u. (minimum-maximum) Once per week In-situ
Oil and Grease, mg/1 Once per month Visual
Total Dissolved Solids, mg/1 Once per quarter Grab
Settleable Solids, ml/1 Once per month Grab
Self-monitoring sampling by the permittee for compliance with the monitoring requirements specified above shall be
performed at the following locations: outfalls 001, 002, 005, 008, 009, 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 017, 018, 019, 020,
021, 022, 023, 024, as shown in Figures 2, 3 and 4.
If the permittee, using the approved analytical methods, monitors any parameter more frequently than required by this pemrit,
then the results of such monitoring shall be included in the calculation and reporting of the values required in the Dischazge
Monitoring Report Form (DMRs) or other forms as required by the Division. Such increased frequency shall also be
indicated.
d. Oil and Grease Monitorine
For every outfall with oil and grease monitoring, in the event an oil sheen or floating oil is observed, a grab sample shall
be collected, analyzed, and reported on the appropriate DMR. In addition, corrective action shall be taken immediately
to mitigate the discharge of oil and grease. A description of the corrective action taken should be included with the
DMR.
2. Salinity Parameters
In ordez to obtain an indication of the quantity of Salinity, measured as total dissolved solids (TDS), being discharged from
the site the permittee shall monitor the wastewater effluent at the following frequencies:
Outfalls Freauencv Sample Tvpe
001, 002, 005, 008, 009, 011, 012, 013, 014, 015, 016, 017, 018, 019, 020, Quarterly Grab
021, 022, 023, 024
Self-monitoring samples taken in compliance with the monitoring requirements specified above shall be taken at those
locations listed in Part I.B.S.
Where, based on a minimum of 5 samples, the permittee demonstrates [o the satisfaction of the Division that Ore level of total
dissolved solids (TDS) in the effluent can be calculated based upon the level of electrical conductivity, the permittee may
measure and report TDS in terms of electrical conductivity.
3. Special Monitorinc
a. Twelve Time Anah~sis - Outfalls 011, 017, 019.020, 021. 023
In order to determine the quality of water discharged at this facility, the pemtittee is required to perform a twelve time
analysis for the following parameters at outfalls 011, 017, 019, 020, 021, 023. The fast sampling shall occur during the
first month after the perarit becomes effective, or when discharge commences, and sampling shall continue for the next
eleven consecutive months. If no discharge occurs during the month, sampling shall resume when dischazge resumes and
continue until twelve samples have been collected and analyzed using approved methods with method detection limits as
low or lower than those specified in Part I.E.3. of the permit.
A sumrnary report in the form of a letter shall be submitted to the Permits Unit by September 30, 2005. This report shall
include all individual sample results collected over the twelve month period. If sampling is incomplete because no
dischazge occurred during part or all of the period, this shall be noted in the report. If sampling has not yet been
completed by [his date, this twelve time analysis requirement shall continue until twelve samples have been collected and
analyzed and the results have been submitted to the Pemvts Unit. Monitoring results previously collected (1998 and
more recent) maybe substituted for furure monitoring results such that the total is ] 2 results per pazameter.
