'ts. Carol Pa~~l ke
h'r. Jim Herron
August ~, 1950
Page 3
and nairino the data from reference and disturbance areas from lowest to
hiohest values. In t)re event that reference area data were significantly
lower than on the disturbance area, this regression would at least describe
the relationship. You felt this approac'i could be considered.
lde also discussed some of the permit application needs aside from the
reference area study. You indicated that some quantitative information
should be presented as baseline data from the ~r~et ^~eadow community since
none currently exists. Information on land use and vegetation production
at the tipple area sf;ouid be provided. State renulations indicate that
the vegetation map stiouid cover the entire permit area. You indicated
it would be desirable for this map to be at the same scale as other mans
in the permit application. A plan for demonstrating revegetation success
is also required by section 4.15.7 (2 ). The reference area study will
contain much of this information, and will also augment the existing
baseline data from the 197i permit application.
The intent will be to include the reference areas study report with the new
permit application at the end of October, 1980. There is a possiblity
the report may not be completed at that time, in which case it will be
submitted as soon as possible thereafter, and in no event should it be
delayed beyond the end of iiovember, 1980.
41e appreciated the opportunity to meet with you last week. I hope my
summary of our meeting is in accord with your understandings.
Sincerely yours,
~~~ ~ ~~
David R.
