r
M-97-084/2nd Adequacy
10/30/97
page 5
Total direct costs = $1606
Indirect cost is added to total direct cost at rate of 19%. Therefore, indirect cost = $305
Grand total (direct and indirect costs) _ $1911 (for partially mined site).
The cost figures for the additional estimated 0.58 acres of area of the totally removed fan are
approximately the prorated amount of the unit costs above (except the mob/demob, which is not
added). By adding $707 of direct costs and $134 of indirect costs to the grand total above, the
grand total of a totally mined site is $2752.
I hope you understand the necessity of the topsoil and revegetation portions of the reclamation
cost estimate. It is partly for adequately covering the State's liability for reclaiming a site, which,
if the permit is revoked and the posted bond must cover atl reclamation, there will probably be no
outside party who will assure that commercial development is imminent.
As we have handled past responses, faxes followed by mailed hard copy are acceptable. I look
forward to your next responses. If you have questions, please contact me at: 970/247-5193.
