Mine development and secondary mining in the J seam will
be kept in advance of mining in the G seam (except as noted below) so as
to not destroy the integrity of the J seam. In the J sears mine plan,
entries, crosscuts, rooms, and barrier pillars will be laid out in such
a manner so that they will directly overlie those in the G Seam to every
extent practical.
Development of the G seam during this five year plan
will be for life-of-mine entries. There will be no second mining
(pillar extractions during the projected 29 year life of 2nd and 1st
East entries developed during this five year plan. Therefore, no
subsidence will occur; thus the p and J seams will be fully protected
in these areas. Please see Exhibit Goa,
Development of the P and J seams have been delayed
due to a lack of a market for these coals. When coal market conditions
improve and a market can be secured for these coals development of the
• P and J sears will be considered.

C-26d
