The Northern No. 2 (P-seam) Mine portals and associated surface <br />facilities mill be located approximately 7 miles northeast of Meeker, Colorado <br />adjacent to and on the east side of State Highway 13/789• Mining will take place on <br />the following leases: Federal leases C-28358, C-1545, D-044240 and C-0126999 <br />(PRLA) and a fee lease owned by W. Jensen, et al. The total of 1,910 Gres will be <br />mined durin the life of the mine. The permit azea term will be for a period of S <br />years from the date of approval and will cover an azea of 452 acres. ~-~ <br />Mineable reserves in the Upper P seam have been estimated at <br />17,517,700 tons with recoverable reserves of 10,413,960 tons, yielding a recovery of <br />59 percent. P seam mineable reserves are 11,930,700 tons. P seam recoverable <br />Feserves aze 5,756,711 tons, yielding a recovery of 48 percent. Overall recovery in <br />the P-seam mine is 55 percent. Refer to Table C-4 (P-seam reserves) for reserves <br />and recovery by lease. <br />All development and secondary mining in the Northern No. 2 (P-Seam) <br />• Mine will be in advance of the Northern No. 3 (J-Seam) Mine as to not destroy the <br />mining integrity of the P-seam. Entries, crosscuts, rooms and bazrier pillars in the <br />Northern No. 2 (P-seam) Mine will be laid out in a manner as to directly overlie in <br />the J seam to every extent practical. <br />The portals and associated surface facilities for the Northern No. 3 (J- <br />Seam) Mine will be located approximately 7 miles northeast of Meeker, Colorado on <br />the east side of and adjacent to State Highway 13/789• Mining will take place on <br />the following leases: Federal leases C-28358, C-1545, D-044240 and C-0126999 <br />(PRLA) and a fee lease owned by W. The Northern No. 3 (J-Seam) Mine will have an <br />. expected life of 26 years, with mining commencing in the fourth quazter of 1981 and <br />expiring in the first quarter of 2006.
