2.4 RIENAU N0. 2 (G-SEAM) MINE
2.4.1 Description Of Mine Plan Area And Permit Term Information
The portals and associated surface facilities for the
Rienau No. 2 (G-Seam) Mine will be located approximately 6 miles
northeast of Meeker, Colorado on the east side of and adjacent to
State Highway 13/789. Mining in the G-Seam Mine will be on
Federal Leases C-07613, and D-044240. The permit area term is
for a period of 5 years following permit approval and will have
a mined acreage of 8 acres. NCC is presently mining the G Seam
federal lease D-044240 under an OSM interim program approval and
a CMLRB permit no. 78-345. Past mining of this seam is discussed
• in Chapter D.
2.4.2 Mine Plan and Ma.ior Equipment
Mineable reserves have been calculated at 62,856,600 tons
with expected recoverable reserves at 25,994,694 tons yielding a
recovery rate of 41 percent. Refer to Table C-10 (RIENAU N0. 2
(G-Seam) MINE RESERVES).
The Riehau No. 2 (G-Seam) Mine presently has one con-
tinuous miner unit operating. The unit will produce about 100
tons per shift. Maximum projected operation will be one shift
per day. For projected tonnages, see Table C-lla.
The maximum coal to be mined in the Rienau No. 2 and Northern PIo. 1
Mines is 12 feet. The minimum coal which will be mined is 6 feet. ?hese
variances will depend upon geologic conditions and are dictated by equipment
limitations also.
• C-20
~~7~~
