..: ~ ~ ~r ~ <br />M I t7 U T E S <br />The regular meeting~~of the Las Animas County Planning <br />Commission was held [dednesday, April 24, 1985, at 7:00 p.m. <br />in the Las Animas County Planning and Land Use Office. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT 47ERE: Dr. Piano Mr. Wilkinson, <br />Mr. Garlutzo, and Mr. Chavez. <br />ALSO PRESENT WERE: Art' Winters, David Gourdin, Mikki <br />Piano and Mr. Carrillo - Planner. <br />~. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair- <br />man Dr. Piano. Mr. Wilkinson made the motion to approve <br />the minutes, seconded by Mr. Garlutzo. Motion .carried. <br />OLD BUSINESS: The Commission was updated on the up- <br />coming Public Hearing for application 85-002, by Edward <br />Richardson to construct a church building on county road <br />43.5. <br />NEW BUSINESS: Application ~p85-501 by David Gourdin <br />seeking a Zoning Ttap Amendment. Upon discussion it was <br />learned that Ptr. Gourdin controls 720 acres of land for <br />grazing purposes. Some of this land is owned by Mr. <br />Gourdin and some is leased. Of the 720 acres 160 are in <br />the Spanish Highlands Subdivision and zoned Ranchette. <br />Mr. Gourdin indicated to the Commission that he has no in- <br />tension of persuing P.anchette objectives, that his intent <br />is to conduct ranching operations and the reason of the <br />zone change is for tax purposes.. <br />Mr. Floyd Chavez expressed concern that the commis- <br />sion could be establishing an undesirable precedent by <br />allowing this change. After a brief discussion 1?r. <br />Wilkinson made the motion that Mr. Gourdins application <br />be approved, seconded by P4r. Garlutzo. The motion carried <br />with Mr. Chavez voting against it. <br />The next item on the agenda was application ~k35-003 <br />by t1r. Harold Winters for the establishment of a gravel <br />pit located on county road 42.0 at the site of an old <br />pit. Art Winters (son) was present to represent Harold <br />Winters. Mr. Art Winters was informed of the need to <br />obtain a state permit in conjunction with the county per- <br />mit to ensure reclamation of the site following a brief <br />discussion about the site and its intent to provide gravel <br />mainly to Las Animas County. Mr. Chavez made the motion <br />to approve, seconded by Mr. Wilkinson. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Floyd Chavez reported that the treasury has $311.33 <br />in savings and $462.75 in checking account. <br />Mr. Joe Carrillo reported to the commission that the <br />long awaited for computer (IBt4-PC-:Ci) has been ordered and <br />would be shipped on 5/10/85. <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m. <br />
