Long <br />Division Director <br />RE: S & H Mine 112 Application, Platte Sand & Gravel LLC, File No. M-2000-158 <br />Hydrologic Review Comments <br />The following hydrologic concems were identified during a review of the above mentioned l 12 <br />permit application. These concerns will need to be resolved to the satisfaction of the Division <br />prior to a recommendation of approval. <br />6.4.3 EXHIBIT C -Pre-Mining & Mining Plan Map(s) of Affected Lands <br />1. In conformance with Rule 6.4.3(d), the Division requests that the mine plan map be revised to <br />show the limits of excavation (if other than the affected land boundary) and the proposed <br />setbacks from the South Platte River and the Western Mutual Ditch. In addition, the <br />approximate location and orientation of any product, overburden, or topsoil stockpiles {if located <br />in areas away from the processing area) should also be noted. Please address. <br />2. in conformance with Rule 6.4.3(1), the Division requests that the applicant provide aerial <br />photographs or copies of such photographs of the proposed operation, if available. <br />6.4.4 EXHIBIT D -Mining Plan <br />3. In conformance with Rule 6.4.4(a), the Division requests that the applicant identify those <br />portions (and acreages) of affected land that will be dewatered and dry mined and those portions <br />(and acreages) that will be wet mined. (The applicant is encouraged to depict on the mining plan <br />map which areas will be dry mined and which areas will be wet mined). Please address. <br />4. In conformance with Rule 6.4.4(c), the Division requests that the applicant clarify the water <br />management system to be used in the processing of pit run materials. Any fresh water ponds, <br />recirculation ponds, clarification or siltation ponds to be used should be described and also <br />shown on the mine plan map. Also, any measures to be taken in or near the active dredging <br />
