GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Lind Borrow Pit is located on WCR 13,approximately !/._mile south of WCR 62 on the east side
of the road.
The site is located in close proximity to the constriction site. The material is of suitable nature for
the constriction project. Weld County will be using material from this pit for the two phases of the
road project.
Phase one will be upgrading and paving WCR 62 between WCR L3 and WCR 17. It is scheduled
to be completed the spring of 2002. Phase two will be realigning and straightening of WCR 15
between WCR 72 and WCR 74. WCR 15 will be completed October 2003. Approximately 133,000
cubic yards will be removed from the site. Excavation will take place February 2002 through May
2002. The operation will use two self-loading scrapers that will remove 6" - S" of topsoil and
stockpiling. The fill material will then be removed and stockpiled.
In the spring of 2002, part of the fill material will be used for Phase One. Phase Two will be
completed by October 2003, due to funding and the relocation of an irrigation canal.
There will not be any processing equipment involved. The landowner requested that he will be
responsible for reclamation of the excavated area. Weld County will be responsible for reclaiming
stockpile area, the site will be regraded and seeded to NRCS recommendations. The stockpile will
be seeded to prevent erosion and weeds until it is completely removed.
The landowner requested that the excavation start immediately. He will give Weld County
permission to stockpile material on the permitted site until completion of the project.
M:1 W PFILESM ining\overv2ew-1 ind.wpd
