U <br />Land use on coal lease applications C-22644 and C-26913 <br />consists principally of open space and wildlife habitat. <br />Lease application C-22676 consists principally of open s~aoe <br />areas and cultivated fields sucporting dyrland farming, ':he <br />open space areas are used principally for wildlife habitat <br />and grazing and are covered by sagebrush and grasses. T^e <br />crop under cultivation within the lease application is <br />wheat. There are no prime agriculture lands associated •~ith <br />any of the three co_1 lease applications. <br />• <br />The principle land use surrounding tt,e coal lease app'_i- <br />cations include farming, ranching, cpen sp_ce wildlife <br />habitat, and strip Wins..^.g by EnerL^y Fuels. As previous l_: <br />indicated in Chapter I, Energy Fuels is producing coal from <br />three pits in the area, (Pits ;l1, 2, 3) and in 1977 prod_ced <br />3,981,291 tons of coal. Energy Fuels employs a total work <br />force of 287 employees. <br />A reservoir and 100' ditch right-of-way (GS-06427) for irri- <br />gation purposes is located within the limits of coal lease <br />applicaticn Ido. C-22676. Ownership of the reservoir and <br />that part of the ditch lying in the SW1/4SW1/4 of sec. 3~, <br />T. 6 N., R. 86 W., lies with the fee owner, Alfred and <br />.Juanita Camiletti.
