<br />contiguous. The tracts consist principally of a long hibh <br />rJ.dee that trends north-easterly and ranges in elevation <br />from 6,900 to 8,200 feet. The ridge has a steep southeast <br />escarpment ending at Middle Creek. Tfie northwest slope is <br />gentle and uniform to Foidel Creek, a distance of 2.0-2.5 <br />miles. Most of the valleys cut into this surface are . <br />narrow, V-shaped, and about 80-200 feet deep. North of the <br />proposed mine site is the broad, gently rolling Twentymile <br />Park. <br />Coal Lease application C-22676 is comprised of two separate <br />parcels: 80 acres in sec. 7, T. 5 N., R. 85 W., and 643.31 <br />acres in sec. 2 and 3, T. 5 N., R. 86.f~., and secs. 34 and <br />• 35, T. 6 N., R. 86 4;. These two parcels occupy a dissected <br />ridge that trends NE-S E. The ridge has a moderately steep, <br />uniform SW slope ending in creek bottoms.
