The pit's floor will slope
from east to west with just enough gradient for drainage at
approximately 2$. The final grading will be completed at the final
mining stage and scarified so as to create a seedbed on the cut
slopes. This will minimize reclamation activities, and no further
backfilling or grading would be required.
Final perimeter slope gradient will vary from 2:7. at the SE
corner below the vertical granite outcrop, to 2.5:1 on the north,
it is our intent to restrict the placement of salt to areas
which will not be revegetated. The existing perimeter berm on the
west side of the pit will remain until the second and i°inal level
cut is made. At that time a new berm will be construction as
required by Mine Safety and Health Administration. A minimum slope
of 2:1 will be left on all ditch banks; historically, this grade
has worked. No adjudicated ditch will be disturbed or affected.
Exhibit D - Reclamation Plan
My understanding is that the vast majority of the pit area
will be used to construct a lodge, house, barns and other
outbuildings as well as loafing sheds and corrals. Other land will
be used for arenas for the rodeo school. I estimate these uses
will take 85$ of the total acreage.
